self-commentary

Architecture refers to both the process of designing buildings and the end product. Conceptual structures are often perceived as cultural symbols, so much so, that civilizations are identified by their architectural achievements.

The importance of architectural spaces also lies in their ability to facilitate communication. While on one hand there is the concrete, the physical reality of an object, a building for example, on the other hand, there is also the personal interpretations of events constructed by our understanding of landscapes, thus creating “narrative spaces”, which give breadth and depth, defining the atmosphere of a place.

The main objective of my artistic practice is to construct a narrative by visually creating a sense of uncertainty; turning reality upside down as a way to mislead the viewer and to then question why these structures are falling apart or disappearing.
