self-commentary

„(...) in this sense, modernity can be said to unite all mankind.
But it is a paradoxical unity, a unity of disunity: It pours us all
into a maelstrom of perpetual disintegration and renewal,
of struggle and contradiction, of ambiguity and anguish.
To be modern is to be part of a universe in which,
as Marx said, "all that is solid melts into air."
Marshall Berman, All That Is Solid
Melts Into Air

Although the subject of my art is the human body, it relates to the sphere, which is enclosed within it, paradoxically immaterial - the sphere of emotions. Therefore emotions in my acts are closed within the limits dictated by the template, which reflects a framework of reality that is shaping us.
The technique of stamping graphic, let me create the impression of transience and oneiric- "meltin the air." The works title Matters has double meaning. The first is a reference to the two main "matters" forming man - body and soul. Besides, it is also associated with the material - canvas.
I've been working on this material for quite a time. The fabric is in fact closer to a man because of its contact with the body throughout our life. Also symbolizes emotions that we are woven of and experience, which we soaked in and cumulate. Poses of acts show different emotional states.
