self-commentary

I wanted to move the flat textures on spacial forms and show the dynamic of graphics. Puppets set in motion reveals more and more different pieces drawing, creating effects unattainable in the plane. An important aspect of the work is also the fact that each set of linocuts created one individualized puppet.
The compositions are complement all the work. They show the basic forms which were built puppets. At the same time they create a new, separate objects. I used a basic feature of graphics – repeatability and the possibility of multiplication. With this feature each composition has gained a new character.

MA project includes 6 puppets. They are made of textiles printed in linocut technique and 14 printmakings on paper (860 x 610 mm) composed of the same elements as on the materials.
Puppets clothes and faces are printed in black and white patterns with some grey details. I used the thin materials and I get the transparency effect – the layers are overlapping. Compositions on the paper are made of elements of puppets clothes (in different configurations). There are irregular shapes and realistic forms of, for example, flowers and animals. Thanks to procedures such as multiplication or extract specific elements I obtained various compositions: geometric, organic, minimalist.
