self-commentary

The Diploma consists of 15 small graphic forms made in the interpreting technique, focusing on imagining the space. I decided to use the characteristics of work in intaglio printing and intensify the effect of spatiality, cutting out some objects from graphics by form. In this way, graphics dictate the form of the matrix, not the other way around. Each of the works has a carefully drawn perspective, which, combined with shapes cut out after the form, creates the illusion of spaciousness on a flat sheet of paper. I limited myself to a minimalist game of delicate but strong lines and strong values that define the shape. I deliberately gave up additional, other techniques, maximally simplifying the form and increasing its strength of expression.  The completed cycle is my personal search for graphic solutions that satisfy me and a form of spitting out, often subconsciously, hidden thoughts or emotions. I am looking for spaces to escape, stretches of cities, corners of individual buildings. Nobody’s abandoned, crumbling spaces are becoming a good place to isolate from the world. They exist in their raw, empty state, which gives you some freedom in moving and rearranging these spaces.
